At just 11 years old, Maya Bernoff is making waves in the figure skating world with her exceptional talent and dedication. Her recent double victory at the U.S. Figure Skating National Showcase 2023 in Boston has cemented Maya’s status as one of the sport’s rising stars.
Representing the Coyotes Skating Club of Arizona, this marked Maya’s debut on the national stage. At the event, she showcased her prowess across three competitions, securing two gold medals and a silver. Her standout performance included a first-place finish among 29 participants in one event, a second place standing out of 43 in another, and another gold from a group of 17 in the third event. Achieving such remarkable feats at her age underscores Maya’s commitment and innate talent.
Outside the confines of the rink, Maya’s accomplishments don’t end. A disciplined regimen sees her at the rink both early mornings and post-school, highlighting her unwavering dedication to the sport. Beyond solo skating, Maya is also a member of the Ice Denettes synchronized skating team and a Theatre on Ice team, the latter of which secured a respectable sixth place in a national competition.
Her interests aren’t confined to skating alone. A Rancho Solano Preparatory School student, Maya takes vocal lessons, engages in student government, dances, and is deeply involved in community service, assisting underprivileged children.
