Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Veterans Day confuse a lot of people because each of these federal holidays honors a group of people. Don’t worry, here’s how to distinguish between the holidays.
Memorial Day: Honoring and remembering all of the men and women in the military who died fighting for the United States, Memorial Day is celebrated yearly on the last Monday in May.
Labor Day: Celebrating American workers and their contributions to the country, Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday every September.
Veterans Day: Honoring veterans (someone who was formerly part of the United States Armed Forces), Veterans Day is observed yearly on Nov. 11.
