Better Business Bureau Serving the Pacific Southwest (BBB) is offering up to $5,000 in scholarships to Arizona high school students in graduating classes 2022-2025, residing in Apache, Coconino, Gila, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal, Yavapai and Yuma Counties. The Ethical Torch Essay Scholarship Contest requires students to submit a 400-word or less essay on the topic of “‘The Importance of Ethics and Integrity in the Community”. There is no cost to enter. This year’s scholarship program sponsors are Swiss America, Inc. and Valley of the Sun Camelback Kiwanis Club.

“At Swiss America, we stand by the adage of ‘Doing the right thing is always the right thing to do.’  It is never too early to introduce this concept to our youth and future community leaders.  That is why we have been a proud sponsor of the Ethical Torch Essay Scholarship for the last 7 years and we stand with BBB to support ethics in business and integrity in life,” shared Bronwin Barilla Vice President/Treasurer of Swiss America Trading Corp.

The deadline to submit applications is October 10. Five scholarships will be awarded in the amounts of $500, $750, $1,000, $1,250 and $1,500 to help students pay for tuition and fees. Winners will be recognized at the annual BBB Torch Awards for Ethics celebration on November 17. BBB’s scholarship contest is part of the 2021 Torch Awards for Ethics which honors companies that demonstrate ethical business practices throughout operations, internally and to consumers.
